Paper Punches ATC swap

Right here we go, this is for the first bi-monthly ATC swap for the sbs18 girls that has been set up by Deena... this time the theme was to make an ATC using 2 paper punches but they couldn't make a border for your ATC... i only have 2 paper punches and they are little ones from the kiddy craft section in tesco so i had to use bunnies and ducks as part of the background. I've used lime green, bright blue and red inks for the background, blue paper punched shapes and a marvy coloured in image of hamish and now this will be winging it's way off to Deena some time next week :)

Winged Things Challenge

This weeks challenge over at This Thursday is 'Winged Things' which fits in perfectly with the Pennyblack stamp i bought today and the goodies i won from Ooh La La the other week.... So i've used; purple card, purple butterfly paper, metallic butterfly, purple dotty ribbon, funky love stamp (sponged over with silver ink) and the PB image 'Buzz in the air' coloured in with marvys and watercolour pencils.... it's so good to be earning again lol now i can start buying stamps of my own instead of using my image swaps all the time lol! So my little winged things are butterflies and bees :)

What I Sent Sam For My Secret Swap Piece

Ok, so now that Sam knows it's me who sent her the bracelet for the secret swap i can blog it... though apparently it's dead obvious it's from me, now would that be the only swap person with the newcastle postage mark or the fact that i seem to be making jewellery at evry chance at the mo? lol! So anyway, it's a bracelet made of torquise glass swirl beads, flower spacers, clear glass ball beads and mini pearl style bracelets... and apparently it fits well too, i'm glad most people seem to have the same wrist size as me lol

Tilda beads challenge

This weeks Tilda & Friends ATC challenge is 'beads' so I've made Tilda a necklace using black beads and little red swarovski crystals, it's held on with tiger tail and sellotape on the back of tilda... i've using check backing paper and a red flower eyelet (from my ooh la la goodies)... Tilda is coloured in with marvys and watercolour pencils :)

For A Red Wine Lover

So here's another piece of an order from the pub people, this is to go with the hamilton decoupage i did a couple of weeks back... It's for a guy who loves red wine.. i couldn't find a wine glass template that wasn't 3d or involved acetate so i went google image searching and came across the musical wine glass... this card is based on that image, though i've replaced the usical stave background with the wonderful definition stamp in black and silver, reshaped the glass slightly and added a red wine coloured piece of ribbon as it just needed that little extra detail to finish it off :)

Replica Wedding Card

Ok so this card may look similar to those of you who remember the card i made for my mum's wedding... she loved it so much that she is going to frame it... but she liked it so much she wanted me to make another as similar to hers as possible for a friend of hers who's getting married soon... so for the sharp eyed people who remember the original you will see the gems are square not round on this one and the dress is different... apart from that the rest is identical to the original.

Black, white & red

Here's a double challenge piece that I've done tonight... It's for the Spoon Full Of Sugar animal challenge and also for this weeks My Time To Craft challenge which is black, white and red.... so i've used a high hopes image of a zebra, black and white doodle backing paper, white card, red dotty ribbon, red and white gems, red felt flower and red foam to mount the zebra on :)

Beermat book

So over on the lots to do forum we have recently had a secret swap.. it's my first secret swap so i'm hoping i haven't made it too obvious who's got something from me, though no doubt the postage mark will give it away...
Anyway this lovely beermat book was my secret swap and it came all wrapped up in tissue paper and ribbon... it was sent to me by hilda.. each beermat is decorated on both sides with quotes, phrases and definitons... it's all monochrome except for the funky ribbons on the bind and the letters to spell out my name on the front cover... i love it, thanks hilda! :)

Happy Birthday To Moo

So here's a funky card i've just finished making, it's another double challenge piece... This week's Dutch Dare challenge is to make a ciurcle card and this week's Penny Black challenge is 'Down On The Farm'... So i've made a bright yellow circle card using; yellow cardstock, funky fairy download paper, green flower ribbon, pigment ink, marvy pens and pennyblack stamps for the cows and sentiment... never tried a circle card before so i'm quite chuffed with the result!

Paper weaving tilda

So here's another challenge card, this time it's a triple! This weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge is 'Things that grow', well flowers, people and animals grow so i've all 3 of those elements. The Daring Cardmakers challenge is 'Golden Oldies' to not use any new stash, so i found a box of papermill papers that i hadn't started, the last felt butterfly and a nieglected tilda imaged that i resized too large ages ago. And lastly, the Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge this week is 'Paper weaving', so i've taken my old papers and weaved them to make the main background of the card :)

Two for cosmopolitans

Just a quick card before I have to head off to work...

This is another double challenge card, this time it's for this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge which is another of katharina's sketches and also for this weeks Ooh La La challenge which is 'Two for...' So I've used; lilac card, funky fairy flower paper, purple flower ribbon, spoil yourself sentiment (from donna), yellow and pink felt flowers and 2 cosmobellas coloured in with my marvys... i scanned in the bella so that i could flip one so that they could face each other to look like 2 friends drinking cocktails together :)

Wednesday 23 July 2008

My new blog banner

So i've had a redesign again.... so what do u think of my new banner then?

... and now i've done myself a quick watermark on photoshop as well, it can be seen on my tilda ATC below :) see now i'm getting properly organised

Tilda with buttons

This weeks Tilda & Friends ATC challenge is 'buttons' a nice simple one this week :)

I've used some pearlescent paper (sent to me by donna), purple metallic ribbon, 2 purple shell buttons and the image tilda goes shopping coloured in with marvys.

Vintage style beermat

Another double challenge piece... this weeks Arty Girlz challenge is 'Eras' and this weeks Daring Cardmakers challenge is 'spot the difference' where you have to use a journalling block somewhere on your project... So i've altered another beermat using; black ink, white ink, silver ink, swirl stamp, love definition stamp, vintage lady image, dotty journalling block and a love quote....

D is for Decoupage!

This weeks ABC challenge is d is for decoupage... so i've done an ATC with an oriental fabric pattern background, vintage elegent lady decoupage image and gold letter peel offs to write je taime as the lady seemed elegantly french to me. So come on over to ABC and join in this weeks fun!

Monday 21 July 2008

Tilda altered beermat

This weeks Tilda & Co challenge is 'it's a bugs life'... i decided to try somethign different so i had a go at altering a beermat... i stripped the labels off then used my new inkpads to create the background, i used; yellow, bronze, light blue, dark blue and red... used a tilda image coloured in marvys and the magnolia ladybirds also coloured with my marvys.. stuck on 4 red felt flowers.. whacked in a gold eyelet (using my £1.49 wilkinsons eyelet setter that came with 100eyelets lol) and then looped some new dotty red ribbon through it that i bought on my trip to hobbycraft this morning... i'm quite pleased with this.. be ready to see more like this soon me thinks :)

Sunday 20 July 2008

Artifully Asian

This weeks My Time To Craft challenge is 'Artifully Asian' so i've made an ATC. I've used my new red ink pad on my oriental lantern stamp, added an oriental charm with red ribbon to secure it on and then i've doodled some oriental symbols onto the background using a silver marker pen

Snow much fun

This weeks Penny Black challenge is 'Snow much fun'. I've used plain white card, snowflake card recycled from a ribbon packet, hole punch holes, blue gems, merry christmas peel off, blue dotty ribbon, silver pen dots and a hedgie image sent to me by donna that i have coloured using tippex and watercolour pencils. So that's 3 of my xmas cards made already lol!

Sweet something

This weeks challenge is Stamp Something is to indulge your sweet tooth, so i've made another sweety bag and filled it with fruit pastilles.. well the few i could steal as the OH started eatign them as i unwrapped them.

Lots To Do- Angels

This weeks challenge over at Lots To Do is 'Angels' so here's my PB angels tag. Mottled white card stamped with my silver ink pad, gold paper stars, gold ribbon, cotton wool clouds and hedgies coloured in with marvys and watercolour pencils

Saturday 19 July 2008

Hamilton decoupage

Right so this card is dual purpose, it's part of the order i got last night at the pub with friends and it fits in with the Arty Girlz challenge 'men'... It's a 50th birthday card for a lewis hamilton fan (boo hiss! go button go!) so i took a race image of hamilton and made my own decoupage from it and then added clear, silver and black sequins to the edges to replicate the team colours... not quite the normal type of card for me to make but it's what was requested so as long as they like it then it's all good :)

Purple bead bracelet

Here's my latest jewellery creation.. pretty much the same as the black one i posted one here a while ago just a different colour set of beads to work with. I love this one but it's not for me to keep again... but i have a second set of these beads so i can make myself a purple one :)

Friday 18 July 2008

Blue pearl and hematite bracelet

So i've a normal pearl colour bracelet like this for an upcoming challenge, it was so pretty i couldn't bear to part with it without having something like it for myself... so i made myself one for a wedding that i'm going to soon... i've used 4 little hematite balls, different size dark blue pearl ball beads, a variety of design spacer beads, scraps of chain for the tassle and 2 star charms. So now we can both have one as the other is to be sent to the person whose idea the challenge is... but this is in now what so ever a hint as to what the challenge could be lol!

Torso tags

These torso tags are for a swap going on over at the lots to do forum where we each make 4 to go in for a swap. i distressed the backing papers for all four by scrunching up the paper and rubbing an ink pad over them, i've used red, black, silver and gold and then put the appropriate colour ribbon on them. The red one i tried to make a corset and skirt for.... the black one i covered with red felt flowers... the gold one has a silver skeleton leaf attached with brads, 3 gems and a parchment butterfly on it.. the silver one i stamped the word 'love' over it in 2 different shades of pink before added the heaqrt embellishment, there's 4 flower charms on the bottom and 2 heart charms one below each shoulder.

Hedgie love

I really like this card, not bad for another quickie... right so this is for 2 of this weeks challemges... Cute card thrusday where the theme is 'animals only- no people allowed' and Dutch dare where the challenge is to use something from the 7kidscollegefund store... My animal is a set of PB hedgies, from the Every Which Way set of stamps from the 7kids store, coloured in with watercolour pencils. The white backing paper i decorated using some of my love stamps with gold and black ink.. I've used a heart button and wooden love envelope as the main embellishments and 6 white gems to finish off the other corners :)

Animals ATC

This weeks challenge over at Ooh-la-la creations is 'all creatures great and small' so i had quick bash at this one.... i've used my new dovecraft duck stamp, inked him up once and stamped till nothing showed then added some colour with my marvy pens.... i stuck a gem on each whole duck and some seed beads to act as confetti to go with the streamers from the stamp

Post it note keychain

Here's my first post it note keychain, dead simple and quick to make but very useful... i've seen these on so many blogs i don't know who to credit for the idea, but i've changed my sizes from all the ones i've seen as i couldn't get hold of the rectangle post its so had to use the little square ones instead..

I've used; 1 keyring, 2 felt flowers, white gems, little yellow post its and a piece of flower card 5.7cmx11.4cm

Wednesday 16 July 2008

How does your garden grow?

This weeks SBS18 challenge has been set by Deena and she chose the theme 'how does your garden grow'.... so i made an ATC... the backing paper is pearlescent (sent in a bundle from donna), 2 silver skeleton leaves, 2 card flowers and 2 flower brads... i coloured the edge of the ATC in with a lilac marvy pen as white looked too bland

One for the girls.. kids card

This weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge is to make a 'Kids card' and the Spoon Full Of Sugar challenge is 'one for the girls'... so i've used a girly sugar nellie image, flower dome stickers, felt butterfly, yellow die cut tag, happy birthday peel off, blue ribbon and a scrap of flowery card... girly with the flowers and butterfly but keeping with a not too girly colourscheme...

C is for charms...

So here's my design team piece for this weeks ABC challenge challenge... C is for charms... so to eb a little different (haha or just being me some of u may say) i decided to make a charm bracelet instead of a card, as i love making jewellery... so here's my hematite hearts and stars charm bracelet... hopefully this inspires u a little so go have a go at the challenge! :)

Magnolia Animals

This weeks Tilda & Co ATC challenge is 'our animal friends' so i've used the magnolia sheep and birds for the animals and the corner tree to fill in the gap at the side. I used watercoliur pencils and marvy pens to mix my colouring techniques.. the strange blodges at the top are actually grey and are meant to be clouds, the camera just didn't catch their colour very well :(

Tuesday 15 July 2008

ATC box instructions

Ok so a few people have asked for them that can't get hold of the PCJ mag... im not claiming it to be my design i'm just passing on the good idea...
So you'll need: 2 pieces of 12x12 card, glue and embellishments

  1. trim one of the 12x12s down to 19.5cm (long) by 22.2cm (width)
  2. divide the length into equal lengths on 6.5cm
  3. divide the width into 3 parts; 6.5cm, 9.3cm and 6.5cm
  4. score the lines
  5. measure and draw out 1cm flaps on the four corner squares from the inside of the square
  6. cut out the rest of the corner square for each corner
  7. fold the sides up and glue the tabs to the inside of the rectangle sides
  8. trim the other piece of 12x12 to 21cm (long) and 23.5cm (width)
  9. divide the length into three equal sections of 7cm
  10. divide the width into three sections; 7cm, 9.5cm and 7cm
  11. repeat steps 5-7 for this piece of card
  12. decorate as required

There we go it's as easy as that :)

Summery PB

Here's a summery PB hedgie card for 2 of this weeks challenges.... Stamp Something 'triple play' challenge and the Penny Black challenge which this week is a sketch. My 3 main colours are white, blue and yellow... the 3 layers are the card backing, yellow card and the flower card on which the image is mounted... my 3 embellishments are gems, flet flowers and a brad

ATC storage box

Glad this idea got published in the new issue of the papercraft junkies mag as my made ATCs were littered everywhere as my ATC wall is full now of swaps lol... it's an ATC storage box made using 2 sheets of 12x12 cardstock... so i chose lime green for the base, didn't see the point in decorating the bit that no one would really ever see... and then a blue flower patterned piece for the lid and then i added some orange and yellow felt flowers to the lid as decoration... and there we have it a quick and easy way to keep my ATCs safe :)

Monday 14 July 2008

Teenager card

This weeks Papertake Weekly challenge is to make a card for a teenager... so i've made a decoupage from a hard fairy image and then used a variety of pink peel offs and a piece of deep pink ribbon... this is really just an extension of the grungy work i've been doing tonight :)

Tilda Clock

Here's a little something that's been sitting half done on my desk for ages, i got as far as the backing paper and got bored lol. So tonight i decided to finish it.. i've taken a pre-coloured image of tilda in her raincoat, 3 felt flowers and 3 white gems.. ok so the hands are tad small but at least they stay out the way of the flowers which are raised. Think it's going to go up above my desk.. when i find a battery and a hook as he's hidden things again lol

Grungy Tilda

This weeks Tilda & Co challenge is 'Distressed Tilda' and how much did i enjoy this challenge! Not really done a lot of crafting since i started my new job but i thoroughly enjoyed this one as it's so me lol well how i was during college.. i've gone off the baggy jeans.. but the mad hair, music and some of the clothes and jewellery live on lol.... So i edited rough tilda slightly, i didn't bother inking the jumper patterns or her wings.. i added laces to the boots, patches to the trousers, patterns and studs to the jumper, black buterfly wings and red streaks in tilda's hair... The background paper has been scrunched up then inked ip, then a frame from the urban grunge kit stuck over the top and finally some silver ribbon across the top and bottom as it needed some sparkle to it :)

Linda's Candy

Linda over at Linanna designs is celebrating 1000hits with some blog candy so gave have a little looksie :)

Sunday 13 July 2008

Lots to do challenge- silhouettes

Here's my first piece of DT work for the lots to do challenge blog. This weeks challenge is silhouettes, so i've made an ATC using chequered blue paper, clear glitter hearts peel offs, white vine peel off and cut out shape of a couple... so go join in the challenge!

Saturday 12 July 2008

order finished :)

There we go that's it, all finished! Made the second pearl and hematite necklace for my order, similar to the previous but there's two different size oval beads used on this one. Then i made some little origami gift boxes and tied them with ribbon, so now they look like proper gifts :)

Friday 11 July 2008

more bits n bobs

Just sharing a couple of other bits i've made tonight..

Jewellery order pt 1

So some of you may remember i made a pearl and hematite necklace (and bracelet) for a friend's daughter's 18th birthday... well she's been wearing it lots, even everywhere they went on holiday in new york... and now he has asked me to make 2 more of the necklaces, one for a friend and one for his mum lol... so i'm making them all slightly different so that no one has the same so can wear them at the same time without looking daft... so this one is pearls and hematite oval beads... now i just need my new batch of pearls to arrive so that i can make the second necklace..not sure what shape hematite to use as i've done ovals, stubs and hearts already.... any ideas?

Peel off classic car card

This weeks Daring Cardmakers challenge is to make a card using peel offs, this thursday challenge is opposites attract and the Dutch Dare challenge is to use designer paper, so i've combined the 3 challenges for this card.
I've used; cherry arte doodle designer paper ribbed white card, plain white card, happy birthday peel off and classic car peel offs from the papermill for the car, loves and dots around the edges. I'm actually quite pleased with this card now, i hated it when i started as peel offs aren't something i normally solely make a card from, where's my stamped images?! lol
